A lot of Christians seem to misunderstand the meaning of non denominational. Some people think that it means being less than a standard church. Others think that some of its central beliefs are left out making it a hollow religious system. A few even think that these non denominational churches in Lexington KY are somehow against the standard Christian churches. Specific sets of beliefs and procedures are used to establish these non denominational churches in Lexington KY. Some of these churches base their beliefs and procedures on the clear wording in the Bible. Most of them were established based on the understanding and interpretation of the first church leaders which are not clearly stated in the Bible. Colossians 3:17 explains that being one of the non denominational churches in Lexington KY seeks the approval of Christ, thus following after Him and His words. To become a non denominational church would mean that they are one with Jesus and not be divided. These churches always strive to be right with God and pleasing in His sight, following all His words. The term non denominational in Christianity, refers to a church that does not formally align themselves with an established denomination. Non denominational churches have established their own internal methods of policy and worship without the interference of the methods of policy and worship of the regional, national and even then multinational organizations. There are no set of criteria for membership, attendance, doctrine or anything found within any of the denominational churches. Any person is welcome, regardless of his previous church affiliation or even if he doesn’t have any idea about what the church teaches. The members of these non denominational churches usually consider themselves as Christians. Many of them even feel at ease when they visit any of the other denominational churches that have the same beliefs as them. These non denominational churches are not really different in their core beliefs. However, they have eliminated the issues that can create extended discussions which can lead to criticisms with their church. Core subjects like the Trinity and Crucifixion are thoroughly discussed but any issues that can cause a disagreement are minimized, some are even completely avoided. The reason for this is that where the Bible is clear, everyone would agree. If a part of the Bible seems vague, personal assumptions and interpretations of a person may be required which can cause disagreements among its members causing some division. |
